TORAH : SNOWBOARDER

"I've chosen not to use drugs in my life and in my sporting career because I want to be on top of my game, in my life and in my sport."

Torah is making a name for herself as Australia s most exciting snowboarder. She was inter-school national champion in her first year on a snowboard, and just four years later took bronze in the half-pipe at the World Junior Snowboarding Championships in Italy in February 2003.

Snowboarding has taken Torah all over the world, including the USA, Canada and Europe. She has received widespread media coverage in both Australia and the USA.

Trying to balance school and a social life isn't easy with Torah's rigorous training schedule.

"I've just been training with the national team...It's pretty much six hours a day on the snow, every day."

Australia's Queen of Extreme, Torah has just realised her dream and is off to the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy. Torah recorded a bronze medal-winning performance in the World Cup event, held at the Olympic venue in Bardonecchia, to secure her place in the Australian team.
